First contact Adoption Insight . Caring staff will present you with
several printed profiles (sometimes small booklets like family
photo albums) matching requests you have indicated to staff on
your initial intake form. Each profile is a presentation of what
each couple or family believes represents them and their
personal story in the decision to adopt. Each profile will tell a
story not only about the couple or individual wanting the
adoption but also about extended family, health, finances, life
style, religion, and a host of other information to assist you in
choosing the family that best represents what you believe works
for you and the child.

The profiles of waiting couples have photos from different times of
their lives and different events in their lives. Stories and brief
testimonials from friends and family as to why each couple or individual
believes they will make a wonderful choice as a parent for a child they
are wanting to adopt into their home and life.

Maybe the criteria for a parent for this child will be someone who
was adopted themselves. Maybe this child should be brought
up in a home that has the same ethnicity as yourself or the child
your caring. Maybe parents with educations or specialized
degrees are important in this decision. Maybe, your desires for
this child are a small community, loving family and a big green
back yard to play in with a neighborhood full of playmates. Is a
family with lots of brothers and sisters important in this decision?

Spend time searching your heart and past experiences as you read each
profile and look for the couples, individual, or family that touches your
heart and will best fit the needs of the child coming into the world.

This child will most likely have a personality and physical
characteristics similar to those of yourself and/or the birth
father. Only you will know which family can best offer resources
that bring this child a healthy happy home life.

After speaking with a couple or several people you will get the
knowledge of the family and the peace to make this choice.
